Short after I arrive in Malang airport in that morning (Wednesday), an sms from my father came to my cell phone: Garuda airplane failed to land and burnt out. No detail about the death and others. I just sent sms back that I’d just arrived fine and was approaching to plant.
An airplane crash again? Man.. this is the …(I don’t remember exactly) times accident occurred since last 3 months. Begun with Adam Air loss early in this year, then ship Senopati accident, and also ship Livina 2..And now this?? Not yet counted other “small” accidents. And plus other natural disasters such as flood in Jakarta, earthquake in West Sumatra, land erosion in Manggarai.
Arrived in the plant, I watched and listened news in TV.. and was very sad.. 21 people were burnt out and death.. and also other casualties were brought to hospital. Some of the passengers are foreigners, well-known people. And it happened by Garuda. This carrier flagship is actually one of the safest airway in Indonesia. Therefore the price is much higher compared to other. And most of planes are relative new also compared to other airways in Indonesia (but not really compared to other countries).. So after this accident, people start to think.. what’s going on with the transportation system in Indonesia? Is the life of a human is worthless, so almost every month there is transportation accident who causes many lives?
And after this accident, I am starting to worry, as I quite often use airplane to go out of city due to my job.
The thing is, if it is the fate, nothing I can do. But somehow still something is in my mind… it is true, that the life of someone has his/her own end or destiny, but still it doesn’t mean that we just can be careless not taking care it. If all these accidents happen because of the bad system and bad people who manage this, so it is careless, and they are playing with the people lives. And they are confronting with God!
